The scratcher part needs replaced after just one month, but that may have just been from the excitement of a new scratcher. Now they just sleep on it, and love it. This didn't happen to me, nor has my cat unraveled it, in her scratching. This replaces a smaller one we had that was all out of cardboard, which Lulu (cat) loved but she didn't look comfy in it. This one is larger and love that the outer border is the plastic material (not for sustainability :(, but for durability and aesthetics).I'd buy a refill or another of these in a heartbeat.As other reviewers have written, the cardboard is a superlong strip of narrow cardboard rolled into a spiral. It’s wrapped in plastic wrap for shipping. When you unwrap the plastic wrap, you’ll need to hold that cardboard together as you place it into the plastic base. If anything happens to that cardboard before it gets into the base….yikes. You’ll need to manually roll that cardboard back together for about half an hour.Love it! I read the reviews before purchasing so just make sure you open the plastic wrap of scratch pad part on a flat surface so it doesn’t spiral out. Other wise, super easy to pop in. Perfect size for big cats. I have 2 large cats and I will have to buy another one because they both love it!My cat loves this scratching bed.I don't recommend this product. The cardboard is not sturdy and doesn't fit well in the ring. It broke easily and I've already thrown some pieces away.
