First--and most importantly--the cats love it. I had lots of help putting it together! The instructions were thorough and clear, and it went together easily (despite the help). It's very sturdy--even my 25 pound behemoth does fine in the top basket. It's stable enough that I don't worry about it tipping over, and it's not sliding around the floor like others do. Two 5 month old kittens fit comfortably in the house. I had my doubts about the 2 balls on stretchy string attached to the baskets, but so far they've held on even with lots of attention. The kittens do chew on the top basket, and I've had to cut off several loosened strands of grass. Duck tape around the bottom edge that seems to have eliminated the chewing. The only thing to be aware of is the actual footprint. While the base itself is about 24" x 24", the top and bottom baskets extend beyond the base, making its effective footprint closer to 28" x 28", and its diagonal dimension close to 36". All in all, well worth the money. This is the second time I’ve bought this cat tree because it’s so tall and durable. I have four cats who all use it. The cord is thick and very secure. It is by far better than any I’ve foundI really like the way this cat tower looks it’s much more attractive than the ones I’ve had in the past. We use the bottom hutch as a feeding station because I have a dog. It is have it sitting on top of my cat litter box to increase the hieght (dog issue) in the window. My cats are really enjoying it. The top is a little bit wobbly but they do enjoy the second perch pretty well. I think it’s a little expensive I would’ve preferred to pay maybe $80 instead of 100+ but overall I am pleased. I added the black crates because I have an elderly cat that needs a little assistance getting up.Love the design on this cat tree. Perfect size for my little room. However the little “stool” became loose after 1 month of my cat rough playing with the tree. I just had to tighten the screw and problem fixed. Would definitely buy the bigger version in the future.I’m not kidding….this scratching post is no joke. It is sturdy, it is quality, it is BIG, and it is great exercise for our two 1-year old cats (“the boys”). I had been looking for a post with the thicker sisal rope that would be tall enough for them to get a good stretch…and this post did not disappoint. It has a carpeted base that is large enough that it does not tip…not even when both of my cats are climbing it and playing “king of the mountain” on it. They have had so much fun on this post and they run for it when they get jazzed up and have the urge to scratch their claws. Trust me, they have no shortage of toys and climbing opportunities, but this post instantly became their favorite thing of all time. Bonus….they get a good workout, which tuckers out my VERY busy, very affectionate cats!!! I am thrilled with this purchase. If this cat tree is in a corner on hard ground, I can see it being sturdy. The area that we have it in made it wobbly and it is on carpet to be fair. We took the shelf off and secured it in a way that would be easier for our 7 year old cats to access and it would be more sturdy. We like that we were able to kind of build our own from this design. The first week, we thought for sure we were going to be returning it but after a few sprays of catnip spray our cats fell in love with the new tree. They are creatures of habit so getting a new tree design was a little hard for them at first.I can confidently say I knew exactly what to expect bc this was the 3rd 1 of this particular pole I've bought for my cats. They love these things. They don't last indefinitely tho, esp when U have 2 cats that use them a lot. We keep 1 in the bdrm & another in the living rm. The 1 purchased over 4 yrs ago could have hung arnd longer, but it was getting pretty torn up. They like it best when there r new places to destroy on it. It's wide enough on top that if your cat is as talented as mine, they can climb it (won't topple) & perch on the top. I highly recommend this particular pole. U won't regret it.I have two large Ragdoll’s they needed a post that fit their size.Hunted and hunted and hunted to find an identical replacement when the first had worn out. Finally found this again. Totally topple proof. A big cat can take a running flying leap at this and it’s fine. Two big cats can play around on one of these at the same time and it’s fine.10 out of 10. Will continue to buy these for the rest of my life.Only con… I wish it lasted a bit longer. For the price point I think it is an excellent cat tree and not as uggo as others. I was floored by how expensive taller cat trees were and even this was at the highest end of what I could afford. After having it for 6 months, I am still content with my purchase. The fabric is extremely cheap, the blue 'carpet' sheds a LOT and drove me crazy for the first month. I ended up dismantling the thing and using a staple gun to replace the fabric and am pleased with the results! My cat doesn't use the hammock bit but I store her toys in it which is great. My cat is a year old and 10lbs, and can still play and sleep on the platforms comfortably. I also did not use the cave on the top platform as it was a wonky shape and again, very cheap. donated that.If you are on a budget and need a taller tree for an active cat, this is a good choice. Have an extra 100 bucks? maybe spring for something nicer. I love the colours, it's the nicest looking post I've been able to find and I've looked everywhere. I would give it 5 stars except it's pretty wobbly when my kitten jumps from platform to platform and I'm unable to email it contact the seller about this.. perhaps if the bottom piece is a little bigger than the top pieces then it wouldn't wobble so much? And my kitten is pretty small, maybe 4 lbs and only 5.5 months old. She loves sleeping on the perch which is in front of a window. It does shed like another reviewer posted.. but it seems the shed does lessen after use.. when she first started using it i had black carpet threads all over the floor. I do love it because it matches my decor perfectly, it is really cute.. but it needs to be more sturdy and maybe a little bigger. This thing is huge compared to the many scratching posts I've bought for my cat. If you have a bigger cat this is the scratching post for you. My boy takes a running leap at it and doesn't move. Very sturdy. Very impressed as I bought two others before this one that were WAY to small.
